(Pasadena Weekly 29 April 2010 Jake Armstrong)

As of Tuesday, day 3,125 of the war in Afghanistan and day 2,579 of the war in Iraq … 965 American military service members (6 more than last week) have died in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001, and 4,397 (3 more than last week) have died in Iraq since that war began in 2003, according to the US Defense Department.

12 trucks carrying supplies and fuel to a NATO base in Afghanistan were torched by an angry crowd Sunday in an attack believed to be in retaliation for 2 raids by Afghan and US forces over the weekend, The New York Times reported. 16 journalists and 3 support workers have been killed in the Iraq war and the Committee to Protect Journalists on Monday demanded the US begin an impartial public inquiry into their deaths, Reuters reported. The call comes after the recent release of a video showing a US helicopter kill 2 Reuters reporters and 10 other people in 2007.

14 decisions former President George W. Bush made during his presidency, as well as the flaws and mistakes, will be detailed in his upcoming memoir, “Decision Points,” which will be released in November, The Washington Post reported.
